Kazandibi (burned milk pudding) is one of the signature desserts in Turkey. It is similar to creme brulee. While preparing it traditionally takes quite some work, thanks to Başak’s kazandibi mix, you can now enjoy this iconic Turkish dessert easily at home!
Kazan means “pot” in Turkish and dibi means “bottom.” It literally means, “the bottom of the pot.” Traditionally it is made with chicken breast (yup, chicken breast!), milk, sugar and rice pudding. Kazandibi was developed in the kitchens of the Ottoman Palace. It is one of the most famous delicacies served to the Ottoman sultans and is considered a Turkish signature dish. It is also one of Sultan Mehmet's favorites. Kazandibi can be found at most Turkish restaurants and dessert shops. Many enjoy it with a cup of Turkish coffee or Turkish tea.
