Olive growing in the eastern part of Sicily is first introduced by the Greeks from the 8th century BC. AD then it knows a revival of favor in the 1st century BC. J. - C. from the Phoenicians. Successively, the Arabs during their domination in Sicily, gave impetus and rationality to the culture.
